Position Overview:

Are you ready to lead and innovate in a dynamic environment in the North American Rail Industry? Siemens Mobility is ready to bring on a visionary leader to drive our rail products division in the US, a successful business with an impressive volume across the industry. 

As the Head of Product Portfolio, you’ll be at the forefront of our organization, guiding a dedicated team of Product Line Managers. You’ll be the key player in our annual R&D budget planning, shaping the future of our product line.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Act as the chief strategist for all product, solution, and service portfolio elements, playing a pivotal role in business strategy development.
  • Keep a close eye on market trends, competitor activities, portfolio gaps, and industry standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement of products, solutions, and services by leveraging new technologies and industry-leading trends.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular onsite visits, hands-on product demonstrations, and solution design.
  • Represent Siemens Mobility at trade shows and industry events, showcasing products and discussing complex solutions with customers.

Customer Focus:

  • Understand the AREMA Railroad infrastructure market, including customer needs and challenges.
  • Lead engaging customer presentations, discussions, and workshops.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Define and align portfolio elements with senior management.
  • Plan product roadmaps and R&D budgets.
  • Develop user-level/functional requirements for portfolio elements.
  • Model business cases and craft strategies for product development.
  • Oversee the introduction of new products.

Tactical Excellence:

  • Monitor and enhance the performance of the product portfolio.
  • Lead the organization to resolve issues when necessary.
  • Guide a small team of dedicated product managers.
  • Create customer solutions using existing portfolio elements with minimal development efforts.

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in rail transport, focusing on rail products, platforms, and solutions.
  • Proven track record of leading multi-year, multi-million-dollar projects.
  • Strong business acumen, negotiation skills, team orientation, project management experience, and risk management.
  • Self-motivated and capable of delivering high-quality results with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Visio, and Project.

Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.  Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://www.benefitsquickstart.com/siemens/index.html.  The base salary range for this position in Louisville, KY is $144,200 - $195,100. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidates experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications. The annual incentive target is 15% of the base salary.
