Rate of Pay:           The salary range for this position in Sacramento, CA is $116,896 - $132,700 per year and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. Duties: Drive improvement safety, schedule, and budget adherence through the use of Lean Manufacturing principles both on the production floor, and during the production planning phases. Work with production core team members. Review engineering drawings and 3D engineering models using Pro-E or PTC Creo to understand manufacturing process requirements such as job sequence, workflow, and takt time. Define key production work steps, sequences, and durations to set up work scope per station or per cell basis. Generate and improve Material Flow Paths and logistical needs for each Production Work Order both in MRP systems and on the production floor (Material Handling). Prepare production floor layouts to meet planned takt time and schedule. Prepare standardized work instructions. Set up stations with proper fixtures, templates (drilling, small components, mounting), tooling, and equipment. Develop detailed specifications for jigs and fixtures for manufacturing processes using takt time, capacity calculations, engineering product design, and sourcing jigs and fixtures from vendors. Provide critical process control guidance to production, maintenance, and quality control to improve the dimensional accuracy and overall quality of products. Coordinate technical information to and from all levels of the organization including vendors, project managers, production team members, and operations managers.

Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent, in Industrial Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or related field and 36 months of experience in the job offered or in an Industrial Engineer-related occupation.

Position requires experience in the following:

  1. Planning and supporting the launch of new production lines in a low-speed production environment, including/such as rail, aviation/aerospace, naval, or automotive.
  2. Working with vehicle production in welding or assembly processes, including/such as rail, aviation, naval, or automotive.
  3. Utilizing and implementing lean methods and tools including 5s, 7 Types of Waste (Muda), root cause analysis and corrective actions, Yamazumi Methods, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping / Process Flow Diagrams, ABC-XYZ Analysis, and Lean Shop Floor Management Model.
  4. Developing technology roadmaps for a range of automation.

5% Domestic and International Travel Required. [Onsite role.]
