Position Title: Project Developer - Energy Performance Services (EPS)

Salary: $142,140 -$147,200 / Year

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/ Week

Summary of Duties: Perform and supervise preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify Facility Improvement Measures (FIMs) and opportunities. Communicate design concepts with customers, outside vendors, consultants, or Siemen’s personnel as it pertains to the scope of the FIMs. Develop design concepts and schematics concerning recommended FIMs, including scope of work descriptions, savings potential, cost estimates, and data to verify FIMs. Assist sales in the identification and qualification of potential performance contracting projects. Develop preliminary and final performance contracting proposals. Analyze building drawings and perform site surveys to identify mechanical, electrical, and controls systems to determine facility operational characteristics. Apply building energy simulation programs or Siemens in-house calculation tools to develop energy, cooling, and heating load-building models. Prepare financial models related to repayment, including Return on Investment (ROI), life cycle costs, and internal rate of return. Evaluate energy supply-side savings opportunities, trash management, cogeneration, water conservation, and renewable technologies for inclusion into performance contracts. Assist with the creation of performance assurance plans and assist with performance contracting contracts. Independently manage site visits and proposal development. Assist sales in the identification and qualification of energy services. Drive and/or collaborate in the development of Siemens Energy Service Offerings including Siemens Demand Flow, Smart Building Commissioning (SBCx) and Green Lab Solutions etc. Monitor overall project development budget, schedule and deliverables. Approximately 25% travel throughout Southern United States required. Remote work permitted.

Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and eight (8) years of experience in the job offered, as an Project Engineer, or an acceptable alternate occupation. The position requires experience with the following: experience as lead engineer in the energy industry supporting performance-based guaranteed energy savings projects; experience as lead engineer developing large, complicated energy projects over $10M in value; knowledge of both supply and demand side energy management; ability to evaluate guaranteed energy saving potential; knowledge of building equipment and systems including Central Heating, Cooling Plant and different building controls; knowledge of solar PV, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), EV chargers and thermal storage; ability to perform site energy audits; experience with utility bill analysis; experience writing scopes of work for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contracts; experience writing guaranteed energy savings contracts; experience with sales presentations in support of such projects; experience participating in project/program management activities; experience with Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Word; Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
