Job Description 
Softrams seeks a highly skilled Quality Manager – CMMI & ISO to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance, process improvement, and a deep understanding of CMMI standards and practices. The ideal candidate has experience managing, updating, and auditing the corporate Quality Management System (QMS). The ideal candidate will have experience with maintaining various ISO standards (9001, 14001, 20000, 27001, 28000), CMMI (DEV, SVC, +) and be capable of acquiring and maintaining other corporate certifications.  The Quality Manager will play a critical role in the development, implementation, and monitoring of process improvements, conducting audits, providing training to staff, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement within Softrams. 

Federal Requirements:  

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Federal Position of Trust clearance designation.  
  • Must reside in and be able to perform work in the United States.  
  • Must have lived in the United States for 3 of the last 5 years.  

Required Qualifications:

  • The candidate should have 10 years of overall IT experience with emphasis on technology projects and quality management. 
  • Five (5) years of experience leading quality programs at the corporate level, inclusive of process management, quality, audit, and compliance  
  • Strong background in technology project management or experience in software development, ML development, or IT development 
  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with various quality, process improvement, and management frameworks including ISO, CMMI, PMBOK, Agile, Six Sigma, and Project Management 
  • Statistical analysis background and experience 
  • Strong understanding of CMMI standards and practices 
  • Experience in planning and conducting audits and assessments 
  • Proficiency in using process management and documentation tools, including Confluence, Jira, Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Project 
  • PMP Certification through PMI   
  • Agile SAFe Certification 
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills.  
  • Effective problem solving and identifying and negotiating process improvements.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in quality assurance, process improvement, engineering, or a related field 
  • Certification in CMMI or related process improvement methodologies is highly desirable 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, update, and audit the corporate Quality Management System (QMS) that incorporates CMMI DEV/SVC plus ISO and AS9100 principles as required.  
  • Responsible for all ISO and CMMI documentation implementation, revision, and incorporation into the Softrams QMS. 
  • Identify areas for process improvement, develop improvement plans, and once approved, implement the plans. 
  • Using analytical and statistical techniques, monitor and measure the effectiveness of the work performance through data analysis, process improvement, and change requests. 

  • Manage audits:  
  • Develop an internal audit schedule; plan and conduct scheduled and ad hoc internal audits and assessments. 
  • Prepare and conduct internal audits against customer and project performance requirements. 
  • Report and present evaluation and audit findings to project management and team members verbally and through the preparation of written reports. 
  • Objectively evaluate, through audits and reviews, processes, deliverables, and services against the applicable process descriptions, standards, and tools. 
  • Identify and document noncompliance issues. Ensure that noncompliance issues are addressed in a timely manner. 
  • Track and escalate unresolved non-compliance issues and corrective and preventative action plans to closure. 

  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices as related to quality. 
  • Manage the Corrective and Preventive Action Request process. 
  • Support the Management Review process with Quality related issues and inputs and participate in weekly/monthly meetings to discuss project metrics. 
  • Provide staff training on quality related policies, procedures, tools and techniques for improving processes and practices. 
  • Execute the day-to-day quality related activities (i.e. log improvement recommendations, change requests, process updates, process related inquiries). 
  • Perform work product quality reviews for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and regulatory compliance and work with authors to resolve defects. 
  • Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality. 
  • Understanding of the Project Management Institute (PMI) framework. 
  • Knowledge of various project management methodologies (e.g., agile/scrum).

Public Trust Clearance:
This role requires the hired candidate to go through public trust clearance. A minimum of 3 years of stay in the U.S. within the last 5 years is required to be eligible to qualify for public trust clearance sponsorship. 
 
Work Location:
We have open-collaboration offices in Leesburg VA and Baltimore MD for those who may prefer to work on-site. However, Softrams is a 100% remote-first team environment. Softrams works in the eastern time zone and standard work hours are 9am ET to 5pm ET with flexibility around start and end times based on team needs.
