We have a unique opportunity to join Spare’s engineering team as our IT Manager!
As the IT Manager, you will lay the foundation for IT operations at Spare, shaping our infrastructure and compliance processes from the ground up. This role will be instrumental in scaling our IT capabilities to support a growing SaaS business while ensuring security, efficiency, and compliance. You will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams in a highly visible position that offers substantial ownership and impact.
Successful candidates will be located in Vancouver, BC. This role follows a hybrid schedule. We require team members to be in the office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with the option to work remotely on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our office is located in downtown Vancouver, and we believe this balance fosters strong collaboration while supporting flexibility.
Key Responsibilities ✨
In this role you will...
- Oversee IT systems, networks, and security protocols, including managing and integrating Apple ecosystem devices to ensure robust and efficient operations.
- Optimize hardware and software procurement processes, including asset management and purchasing.
- Own compliance initiatives, including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR, and lead related audits and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with external auditors and implement necessary changes to meet compliance standards.
- Establish ticketing systems and workflows to enhance visibility and resolution of IT issues.
- Introduce process automation tools to streamline IT operations and compliance activities.
- Act as the sole IT owner, driving high-impact projects and collaborating with leadership to align IT strategies with business objectives.
- Mentor junior staff as the team grows and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
