Role:

As a Software Engineer in the Observability AI group, you will play a key role in developing full-stack applications to enhance Splunks Observability product portfolio. Your work will help empower our customers on their journey to achieving digital resilience. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to shaping the engineering roadmap for this critical area.

What youll do:

Collaborate with product owners and designers to iterate on the design and implementation of our products. As a full stack developer you will be expected to participate in development of both frontend and backend systems.
Break down product requirements and/or complex technical tasks into sprint size units and estimate the work.
Participate in end-to-end architecture reviews and discussions with the broader team, playing an influential role in overall product design
Design testable software, compose test plans and automate test cases while making necessary improvements to test frameworks.
Hands on development of product features keeping subsystem reusability, modularity, and high scale as part of design
Follow the best software development practices and participate in code reviews
Participate in on-call rotations, post-incident reviews, and other operational duties as needed to ensure stable service delivery

Requirements:

Experience with web frameworks such as React or Angular
Solid knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
Experience in developing backend applications using Python and/or Java
Experience with RESTful web services
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Understanding of CI/CD principles, tools, and version control systems
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) is a big plus
Bachelor’s or higher degree in a relevant field with at least 2+ years of industry experience.

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $119,200.00 - 163,900.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $107,280.00 - 147,510.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $95,360.00 - 131,120.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
