Principal Product Manager - Splunk App Platform
$144k - $181kSplunk
Description
Role Summary
What youll get to do
- Define and drive the roadmap for developer enablement: SDKs, app scaffolding, test harnesses, local dev tooling, and CI/CD integrations.
- Own the application lifecycle experience: create standards and platform support for safe install, upgrade, rollback, uninstallation, and app health visibility.
- Partner with internal platform and security teams to define the primitives that help developers build compliant and supportable apps.
- Work directly with developers—both internal and external—to understand their needs and translate that into roadmap and platform design.
- Collaborate with partners and ecosystem teams to make sure app development on Splunk scales beyond first-party teams.
- Partner with GTM, Sales Engineering, and Partner teams to support app adoption, ecosystem incentives, and readiness for field enablement.
- Stay close to the market—understand where developer platforms are going, what enterprise app teams expect, and how we compare.
- Set clear success metrics for app quality, lifecycle performance, developer productivity, and ecosystem growth—and drive improvements over time.
- Be a thought partner across Splunk on how we scale app experiences and deliver value through our platform.
Must-have Qualifications
- 5+ years of product management experience, including time spent building developer-facing platforms, SDKs, or app frameworks.
- Strong background in app lifecycle management—install, upgrade, mount, config, rollback, runtime—ideally in cloud-native or containerized environments.
- Experience with developer tools and CI/CD pipelines. You’ve shipped SDKs, defined APIs, or built the workflows developers rely on.
- Experience working directly with partners, field teams, and GTM functions to drive adoption and ecosystem success.
- Solid technical foundation. You don’t need to code, but you need to understand architecture and platform trade-offs.
- Clear communicator who can drive alignment across engineering, security, product, and developer stakeholders.
- Experience working with an internal or external developer community is a big plus.
- Experience with Splunk, observability, or enterprise platforms is nice to have but not required.
