Location: We support US flexible working arrangements in the contiguous 48 states.

The opportunity:  

Senior Managers are responsible for the service, risk, and financial performance of a team of Short-Term Disability Case Specialists.  This role is responsible for delivering Service and Performance Guarantee expectations through clear expectations, daily reporting, recognition, and feedback.  This role is accountable for client experience and strong claims management practices which require aligning work practices, performance, and initiatives to reflect the organization’s strategic priorities.  Creating high performance teams is critical in renewing and attracting new clients.   

How you will contribute:  

  • Plan and direct the work of the claim team including regular review & assessment of team progress and performance against Service and Performance Guarantees.

  • Manage claims and customer service activities to optimize and sustain effective risk analysis, performance, profitability while delighting clients.

  • Communicate verbally and in writing with clients, agents, vendors, and internal resources including senior management, in response to all inquiries including claimant or case specific statuses, escalated calls or departmental process and performance measures.

  • Responsible for the leadership and development of Case Specialists.

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate claim practices to deliver best in class claim. effectiveness and service.  Ensure uniformity and consistency with all claim practices and procedures.

  • Collaborate with all constituents to deliver on department expectations in support of sales objectives and client service goals.

What you will bring with you:  

  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people.

  • A minimum of five years management experience in a Claims or Group Benefits environment.

  • Ability to deliver exceptional performance related to service, risk, and quality.

  • Exceptional leadership skills with an ability to engage employees to deliver top performance.

  • Effective in leading through change in a positive manner.

  • Proven success in assisting employees with career aspirations.

  • BA/BS in a related field of business is highly preferred.

  • Field or industry specific designations are a plus.

If you are a California resident, the salary range for this position is:  

  • Southern California region: $75,800 - $113,700 annually.

  • Central California region: $79,900 - $119,900 annually 

  • Northern California region: $85,400 - $128,100 annually  

  

If you are a Colorado or Nevada resident, the salary range for this position is $72,300 - $108,500 annually.

If you are a Connecticut or Maryland resident, the salary range for this position is $75,800 - $113,700 annually.

If you are a Washington or Rhode Island resident, the salary range for this position is $79,900 -$119,900 annually.

  

If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $85,400 - $128,100 annually.
