About the role
As a Customer Relationship Manager, you’ll be leading the Individual Life and Retirement Division complaint team; partnering with Service and Operational Leaders to resolve complaints in a timely manner.
What you will do
- Direct, supervise, and develop Complaint Analysts to build a high achieving and empowered team.
- Lead all aspects of the training and development of your team, and challenge & inspire individuals to achieve positive business results through your effective leadership.
- Ensure complaints are handled timely and accurately, and issues are escalated as appropriate
- Partner with Compliance, Legal, Sales, and other business leaders as required on complaint resolution.
- Conduct formal presentations to Senior Leadership on a regular basis, providing complaint trends and analysis.

Compensation
Salary Range: $82,900 – $138,100 annually plus eligibility for the company annual bonus program.
Who You Are:
- High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- 7+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- 5+ years of management experience, with a focus on regulatory and compliance fields. Operational experience is desired.
- Insurance industry experience, required.
- Strong skills in leadership, motivation, process improvement, the ability to lead change, and excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proven track record of establishing and maintaining positive relationships with external and internal partners and customers.
- Advanced Presentation skills, as well as Power Point, Excel, and Microsoft SharePoint.
- Some minimal annual travel required (for people manager roles only)
Travel:
- Required Training & Professional Development
All newly hired people leaders with direct reports are required to complete a comprehensive leadership development program within their first year. This program includes both virtual and in-person training. The in-person sessions will take place at Symetra’s corporate headquarters in Bellevue, Washington.
