Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Proposal Consultant!

About the role

In this role, you will support proposal responses for Group Life, Disability, and Supplemental Health insurance products. You will coordinate and complete Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and consultant questionnaire responses to present the organization’s insurance products and services accurately and favorably.

What you will do

Lead end-to-end management of the proposal development process, ensuring completeness and accuracy in responses to RFPs.
Manage multiple RFPs simultaneously, prioritizing workload effectively.
Analyze and comprehend the requirements outlined in the RFP.
Participate in strategy sessions including initial RFP review identifying risks and gaps.
Collaborate closely with subject matter experts to gather necessary information for RFP Submissions.
Collaborate with Sales to ensure that the RFP aligns with the overall sales strategy.
Coordinate with the legal team to ensure the response complies with legal requirements.
Collaborate with Compliance and Marketing areas to ensure that all responses meet regulatory requirements.
Adapt to various delivery methods, including electronic submission platforms, physical delivery, and online proposal platforms.
Apply effective project management tools and methodologies to track progress and ensure timely delivery of proposals.
Assist with developing and maintaining a repository for reusable content for efficient and consistent purposes.

Compensation

Salary Range: $56,600 - $94,300 plus eligibility for the company annual bonus program.

Who You Are:

High school diploma required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
3+ years’ experience with Group Life, Disability, and Supplemental Health insurance products.
Strong writing skills, including ability to create proposal responses from scratch with minimal or no direction.
Knowledge of RFPs and consultant questionnaire response process highly preferred.
Strong skills in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point. Experience with proposal software desired.
High degree of organizational ability and strong project management skills.
Customer focused, with a meticulous approach, and able to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
High attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and strong communication skills.
Excels at working independently and collaborating as part of a team.
