Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join Our Dynamic Tax Team as a Tax Accountant!

About the role

We’re looking for a passionate and detail-oriented individual to join our team. Here’s what you’ll be doing in the role:

Tax Compliance: Prepare comprehensive federal, state, and local tax reports along with supporting documentation; with a primary focus on federal income tax provisions and returns.
Accounting Deliverables: Prepare tax account reconciliations and other essential accounting tasks to support our financial reporting compliance.
Process Documentation: Maintain and document processes and procedures to ensure the smooth operation of our department.
Special Projects: Assist with special projects and conduct research to support departmental initiatives.
Multitasking and Problem-Solving: Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. Ability to innovate and think critically to resolve issues and enhance systems.
Technical Proficiency: Utilize your intermediate computer skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and research databases.

Compensation

Salary Range: $62,300 - $103,800 plus eligibility for the company annual bonus program.

Your education, skills and experience

High School Diploma or equivalent experience, required.
Bachelors degree in Accounting or similar field, required.
1-3 years of tax experience, required
CorpTax or other tax software preparation experience, preferred
MBT or MS in Accounting with an emphasis on tax and/or CPA, preferred
Intermediate skills in Excel and VLookups
Data analytics experience would be a plus!
