Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

The AVP Marketing, eCommerce Solutions requires an experienced marketer with a demonstrated ability to deliver growth by developing and executing a SMB strategy in the digital space.  The primary focus will be on B2B merchant engagement across the merchant lifecycle.  This role will also support emerging B2C strategies as eCommerce Solutions grows, with an emphasis on leveraging Synchrony channels and Marketplace to drive customer engagement.  The successful candidate will work across the matrixed organization to drive growth and influence change in a new and emerging space for Synchrony.  The ideal candidate must be able to communicate business goals and objectives and define effective user experiences.  The role will flex across the eCommerce Solution team teams to support additional initiatives and programs as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute programs to drive merchant growth the across the entire merchant lifecycle – acquisition, engagement, retention

  • Develop and execute B2B omni-channel marketing strategies and campaigns, including traditional, digital, trade shows and partner channels

  • Implement, manage, and optimize automated, triggered marketing campaigns throughout the merchant lifecycle. These programs should create a better merchant experience, timely and appropriate engagement, and deliver incremental growth

  • Create guidelines on digital best practices for merchants to integrate financing into their website strategies and all other digital marketing channels

  • Champion digital UX for merchants and customers to drive maximum adoption and utilization while increasing merchant/customer satisfaction and profitable sales growth

  • Manage cardholder communications across a variety of digital, direct app, and offline channels, throughout the customer journey including servicing channels

  • Partner with Analytics to track and communicate campaign performance, identify trends, and develop/alter approach

  • Work with SalesForce, Marketing Cloud, Astra, outside vendors/partners, COPS, IT, Performance Marketing, etc. to ensure efficient and compliant marketing campaigns

  • Manage marketing budget tracking, invoice processing & monthly reconciliation for specific marketing programs and special initiatives

  • Maintain a strong understanding of competitor products and experiences and find opportunities to continue to enhance merchant and  customer experience

  • Perform other duties and/or eCommerce Solutions projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma and 8 years of marketing experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of SMB marketing experience and/or 5 years of credit card marketing experience

  • Good understanding of credit, payment products and digital marketing

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

Desired Characteristics:

  • Commitment to flawless execution, including following all processes and requirements

  • Knowledge or experience with any of the following: Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, Workfront, Coupa, Rapid, or Business Center

  • Experience within B2B retail financing sector, understanding of payments industry

  • Marketing experience, including website management, development and/or digital marketing planning and execution

  • Experience in web analytics, attribution analysis, and digital media optimization

  • Strong project management, organized, and detail oriented

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Curious, flexible, high energy, self-starter with an emphasis on action

  • High attention to detail and proven ability to work cross functionally in a fast-paced, complex, environment and manage multiple projects

  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills

  • Quantitative and creative acumen

Grade/Level: 11

                                                                                      

The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

                                 

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
