Our Analytics organization comprises of data analysts who focus on enabling strategies to enhance customer and partner experience and optimize business performance through data management, BI and development of full stack descriptive to prescriptive analytics solutions using cutting edge technologies thereby enabling business growth

Role Summary/Purpose:

VP, Business Intelligence Process Lead (People Manager) role is a part of India Analytics Hub & BI Org. The role involves developing and leading Business Intelligence & Reporting (BI&R) L3 process in partnership with BI and Analytics teams (US and India) and Contract Vendors. Areas of work include enhancing reporting in-take process, inventory management, development and deployment of reporting process risks and control measures, evidence management, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate intake and management of reporting project requests across all of analytics, including assignment to teams and ensuring project status and progress is kept up to date.  Facilitate meetings, develop and communicate weekly agenda, capture and track action items from meetings.

  • Manage monthly reporting inventory process working across analytics teams to get updates to the inventory.  Perform monthly inventory reconciliation and quarterly inventory attestation.  Develop and maintain evidence as required procedurally.

  • Responsible for ensuring all controls are executed for all analytics pillars, following up with Reporting Process Champions (RPCs) and Analytics Team Leads to ensure controls are completed, and document evidence.

  • Create, maintain and disseminate documentation templates around procedural controls and evidence.  Make improvements based on feedback from analytics community, L3 risks and assessments, and audit outcomes.

  • Develop communication strategy for analytics senior leadership and analytics function to drive adoption of enhanced controls and change management.

  • Identify and/or implement process or other potential improvements including control and evidence design and automation to continue to evolve governance for the Growth Analytics Reporting L3 process.

  • Educate and train Report Production Teams and Report Producers on the L3 Business Intelligence and Reporting process and procedures, including, development of job aides, process change communications, and developing related training materials.

  • Engage with Growth Governance, 2nd Line and 3rd Line teams for any reviews or audits.  Assist in coordination of Business Self-identified Issues (BSII) related to L3 process.

  • Develop and maintain an appropriate risk-based random sampling approach to provide over-sight to procedural controls being consistently executed and evidence captured.  Evaluate effectiveness of control design and make improvements accordingly.

  • Contribute to the review, enhancement and update of the PRC, RCSA and RAQ.  Perform at minimum, annual review and approval of all procedures and job-aides.

  • Deliver on other responsibilities on the process as it evolves, projects and initiatives as assigned by management

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Degree in Commerce, Science, Arts, Economics, Engineering, or any equivalent stream with 10+ years of relevant experience, or in lieu of a degree 12+ years of relevant work experience.

  • Min. 8 years of experience in developing and leading business intelligence/reporting or equivalent processes

  • Min 6 years of experience in risk assessment and management for data, reporting or equivalent processes

  • Min. 6 years of experience in hiring & managing people, developing & mentoring talent and providing feedback

  • Knowledge of BI and project management tools and practices with high proficiency in MS-Excel, PPT and Word

  • Ability to manage complexity/ambiguity, articulate a clear vision and deliver measurable results

  • Ability to work and lead in matrix organization, consensus building and superior coordination skills

Desired Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage effectively with a broad range of audiences including senior analytics leaders, analytic managers, governance leads, risk and internal audit teams, etc.

  • Exposure of working with/in internal audit or process governance team and with vendors

  • Experience with BI and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI or equivalent  

  • Ability to ideate, design and lead development of reporting process risk and control deliverables

  • Good understanding of reporting and risk management processes in financial services industry

  • Strong project management, multi-tasking, influencing skills and the ability to work independently

  • Functional knowledge of marketing, sales, digital and finance would be a plus

Eligibility Criteria:

Degree in Commerce, Science, Arts, Economics, Engineering, or any equivalent stream with 10+ years of relevant experience, or in lieu of a degree 12+ years of relevant work experience.

Work Timings: This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs. The position is remote, where you have the option to work from home.
