To achieve its ambitions, Target must lead at the intersection of digital, physical, and social.  As Director of Social Commerce Strategy & Operations, you will help define and activate our strategy across all elements of the social commerce landscape – driving financial and brand growth through partnerships with platforms, creators, and other affiliate partners.  Your primary focus will be shaping the next iteration of our creator affiliate program- which includes developing and maintaining a robust understanding of the creator industry and landscape, designing a differentiated program strategy and features, working across the enterprise to implement a measurement framework that translates program results to business outcomes, and building a team to support continued growth and iteration of the program.  This role requires a bold leader with strong business acumen, strategy and operations expertise, and a track record of delivering results in dynamic and evolving settings.  You will collaborate closely with senior leaders across the organization, fostering innovation, and implementing strategic direction to support the companys purpose and growth strategies. Your entrepreneurial mindset will be essential in building an entrepreneurial culture while leveraging the resources and knowledge of a large organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish Target’s position on creator affiliates, inclusive of building and maintaining existing relationships and creating a new, differentiated, unified engagement model and experience

  • Develop and help execute a multi-year vision and growth strategy for creator affiliates that will position Target to win, in alignment with existing marketing, digital, social and media channel activations and plans

  • Develop a keen understanding of evolving Target guest needs, anticipate changes in guest behavior, competitors, and market segments to translate into effective future looking strategies

  • Establish a measurement and insights framework for our relationship with creator affiliates, with an ability to translate program results into retail outcomes and support broader strategic direction

  • Build a strategy & operations team to support this scope of work, with a culture that exemplifies the core Target values of connection, inclusivity, and drive

  • Serve as a thought leader to educate the broader organization on affiliates and the creator network as a growth driver for Target

About You

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of direct people management experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Media/Tech Strategy & Operations, Merchandising, Management Consulting, or equivalent experience in an organization

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, demonstrating a bias for action to drive business results

  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to analyze and synthesize complex information into actionable insights and recommendations

  • Proven project management skills with experience leading cross-functional initiatives

  • Track record of continuous improvement – leveraging experiences and setbacks to drive professional growth

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as Flex for Your Day) work arrangement based on Targets needs.  A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location thats not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.  A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team members core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
