Job Description
Job Summary:
The Teledyne FLIR Corporate Sales Tax department is seeking a manager to assist with all phases of the sales, use, and property tax compliance process for multiple legal entities, with a focus on managing the team’s property tax compliance process. This individual will assist in reconciliation of tax GL accounts, working with both internal and external customers to ensure adequate exemption documentation, research state regulations, and assist with special projects.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Business Personal Property tax reporting and review.
• Timely completion of open tickets concerning:
• Requests from order entry for customer tax exemptions
• Requests for A/R for tax credit approval.
• Research taxability of products, services and/or tax rates based on customer requests.
• Prepare exemption certificates for qualified exempt purchases.
• Maintenance of sales tax exemption certificates via Vertex, including certificate expirations.
• Nexus studies and state Registrations.
• Manage State Sales and Use Tax Audits.
• Voluntary Disclosure Agreements.
• Research the Use taxability of materials purchased.
• Assist with additional projects as required.
Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or Associates plus 5+ years of experience in Indirect Tax or Accounts Receivable is required.
• Vision to take initiative and ownership of work and communicate ideas within a team.
• Analytical, able to see the “big picture” in assessing solutions.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Time management and prioritization skills.
• Willingness to learn, especially new ways of working.
Desired Software Skills:
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel
• Vertex O Series
• SAP
• Zuora
