OPIS PetroChem Wire (PCW), a Dow Jones company, is a thriving provider of petrochemical market pricing and news. We provide transparency through real-time news and pricing services, and market-specific benchmark pricing reports that enable our customers to make smarter, more informed decisions. 

About the Role:

This is an entry-level position on the OPIS PetroChem Wire team. You will work with our senior editors to collect and analyze trade data to provide daily assessments for the US polyolefins market. In addition to market coverage, you will be trained to cover various editorial duties and meet required deadlines. You will report to the Journalism Associate Director. 

You Will:

  • Work with the current editorial team, initially in a supportive role, to cover and assess the polyolefins markets
  • Familiarize yourself with all polyolefins market activity
  • Understand and promote the OPIS PCW suite of products offered
  • Write/edit news alerts and market commentary
  • Collect data and market feedback, understand fundamentals and/or breaking news, and analyze pricing trends to integrate into market commentary
  • Assist in compiling and publishing OPIS PCW reports and meeting multiple daily and weekly deadlines
  • Meet and network with current sources and resources, as well as develop new sources
  • Attend industry events and conferences as needed

You Have:

  • Undergraduate degree in Energy, Journalism, Business, Data Science, or related area of study -OR- equivalent work experience
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau, Jupyter Notebook and Python (preferred)

Pay Range: $50,000 - $65,000
