About the role
Two Chairs is launching psychiatry and hiring our first Supervising Psychiatrist! This role will provide evidence-based psychiatric care to individuals with mild to moderate mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, and PTSD. As a key member of our clinical team, youll lead psychiatric evaluations, prescribe treatments, collaborate with an interdisciplinary group of providers to deliver holistic care, and support continuous improvement of clinical processes and client outcomes while contributing to program development. Youll mentor and supervise APPs (Advanced Practice Providers) and help build a supportive and growth-oriented culture centered around providing exceptional client care.
Core Areas of Responsibility
Clinical Care
- Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment for individuals with mild to moderate mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mood disorders.
- Maintain a clinical caseload that will vary as the program grows and evolves.
- Provide psychiatric care, ethically prescribe medications when clinically appropriate, utilize measurement-based care that integrates best practices, and be highly responsive to client progress.
- Conduct ongoing assessments, including medication management, psychotherapy, and progress evaluations, to ensure the best clinical outcomes for each client.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals (therapists, social workers, primary care providers, etc.) to ensure a holistic approach to client care, including providing thoughtful referrals for concurrent therapy or additional services.
Supervision and Mentorship of Advanced Providers
- Oversee and supervise a team of APPs (which may include NPs, PAs, APRNs, etc.) who will maintain a caseload of clients, ensuring they follow appropriate clinical protocols and best practices.
- Review and guide treatment plans, including medication management, and ensure that APPs adhere to clinical guidelines.
- Lead regular case discussions, providing feedback and support to help APPs improve their clinical skills and confidence.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive environment, encouraging professional development and growth for all team members.
- Ensure that APPs document client interactions accurately and follow all necessary clinical guidelines.
- Provide support with challenging cases and clinical decision-making, ensuring consistent quality of care across the team.
- Ensure crises are managed appropriately and follow clinical guidelines.
- Ensure appropriate collaboration between Two Chairs clinicians and externally with other providers as appropriate.
Process Development and Improvement
- Contribute to developing and refining clinical workflows and best practices for delivering high-quality mental health care.
- Work closely with leadership and other team members to create and optimize efficient, client-centered processes.
- Participate in designing and implementing tools or technologies that streamline client care, improve treatment tracking, and ensure high service standards.
- Provide input into developing treatment guidelines and protocols for mild to moderate mental health conditions, ensuring they are aligned with evidence-based practices and exceed industry standards.
Client Education and Support
- Provide psychotherapy to clients during sessions when clinically appropriate to improve clinical outcomes, medication adherence, and overall mental wellness.
- Provide psychoeducation to help clients better understand their mental health conditions and engage in their treatment plans actively.
- Support clients in setting achievable goals for their mental well-being and overall quality of life.
Collaboration and Teamwork
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes therapists, counselors, care coordinators, and APPs to provide holistic care.
- Engage in regular team meetings to review client progress, exchange insights, and contribute to the ongoing development of the Two Chairs care model.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to address operational challenges, enhance service delivery, and improve client outcomes.
Research and Innovation
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and trends in psychiatric care, particularly regarding mild to moderate mental health conditions.
- Participate in or support the development of new initiatives or pilot programs designed to improve mental health care delivery and client outcomes.
Impact and Success Indicators

- Supervise and mentor APPs and provide exceptional clinical supervision to drive clinical outcomes and superior clinician experience.
Qualifications and Eligibility Criteria
Education and Licensing:
- MD or DO degree with board certification in Psychiatry
- Valid, unrestricted medical license to practice psychiatry in Florida with additional state licensure or willingness to obtain additional state licensures preferred
- Experience working with a range of mental health conditions, particularly mild to moderate anxiety, depression, stress, and mood disorders
Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrable diagnostic skills with the ability to develop individualized treatment plans that deliver exceptional clinical care.
- Consistent year-over-year experience prescribing psychiatric medications and managing treatment plans for varying mild to moderate mental health conditions.
- Experience supervising and mentoring Advanced Practice Providers (NPs, PAs, APRNs, etc.).
- Familiarity with telemedicine platforms and virtual care delivery with a proven ability to learn and utilize Electronic Health Records, video visit platforms, and other software to deliver and document care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team of professionals.
- Experience working with diverse populations and a strong commitment to culturally competent care.
- Ability to work independently while being part of a collaborative and interdisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a startup or fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Interest in process improvement, health tech, or mental health innovation.
- Passion for making mental health care more accessible and impactful.
- Experience in developing clinical protocols or best practices.
Compensation
Salary
The salary range for this part-time (20 hours per week) exempt role is $152,000 - $178,000 with an hourly equivalent of $145 - $170. The final offer is dependent on clinical and supervisory experience.
