The Senior Director of Employee Relations will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing employee relations strategies, policies, and programs that support a healthy and productive workplace. This role requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of employment law, conflict resolution, organizational culture, and change management. You will collaborate with senior leadership, HR teams, Legal, Global Security, Internal Audit and managers to address and resolve complex employee relations issues, ensuring compliance and fostering an environment of trust, engagement, and transparency.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute the company’s overall employee relations strategy to support business objectives
Advise senior leadership and HR business partners on employee relations matters, offering strategic guidance on complex employee issues, policy interpretation, and labor relations.
Lead the evolution of the company’s culture by identifying opportunities to enhance employee engagement, communication, and trust across all levels of the organization.

Employee Relations Strategy & Policy Development:
Design and implement policies and procedures that promote positive employee relations and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company standards.
Ensure that employee relations practices align with the company’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
Provide leadership and guidance on investigations into grievances, complaints, and disputes, ensuring timely and fair resolutions.

Conflict Resolution & Mediation:
Lead and manage the resolution of complex employee relations issues and conflicts, using mediation, negotiation, and problem-solving techniques.
Serve as an escalation point for unresolved employee issues or disputes, providing expert advice and recommendations for resolution.
Oversee the handling of employee complaints, workplace investigations, and disciplinary actions to ensure consistent application of company policies.
Manager & Employee Support:
Partner with HR and business leaders to deliver training and resources on conflict resolution, performance management, and employee engagement.
Act as a trusted advisor to managers, providing guidance on employee performance, disciplinary issues, and team dynamics.
Ensure employees understand and have access to grievance and dispute resolution processes, fostering a transparent and supportive environment.

Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure adherence to employment laws, regulations, and internal policies to minimize organizational risk.
Monitor trends and emerging issues in employee relations, recommending adjustments to policies and practices as needed.
Work closely with the Legal and Compliance teams to manage risk and prevent litigation related to employee relations matters.

Data-Driven Decision Making:
Utilize HR data, surveys, and analytics to assess the effectiveness of employee relations initiatives, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
Report on key metrics related to employee relations, including dispute resolution outcomes, engagement levels, and legal compliance.

Leadership & Team Development:
Lead and mentor a team of Employee Relations professionals, providing guidance and coaching to foster career development.
Build a strong employee relations team, ensuring they are well-equipped with the tools, resources, and training necessary to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field (required). Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 15 years of experience in human resources, with at least 5 years in an employee relations leadership role, preferably in a technology or fast-paced industry.
Strong experience in handling complex employee relations matters, including investigations, grievances, and dispute resolution.
Proven track record of developing and implementing employee relations strategies that align with company culture and business objectives.

Skills & Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and HR best practices.
Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage sensitive and challenging employee issues.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
High emotional intelligence and the ability to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics.
Strong leadership and management skills, with a focus on team development and mentoring.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and drive change initiatives effectively.

The pay range for this position is $202,000.00 to $290,000.00, however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive and a long-term incentive as part of total compensation.
