The Opportunity 

Unacast is seeking a Solution Engineer (SE) who is a driven self-starter with a passion for technology and customer engagement. The successful candidate should be able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and must be singularly driven by results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Discovery: Conduct thorough technical discovery sessions with prospects to understand their needs and challenges.
  • Product Demonstrations: Deliver compelling demos of Unacast’s data and software solutions, showcasing key features and benefits.
  • Workflow Design: Develop and present workflows that illustrate our schema and data transfer processes to varying end points.
  • Proof of Concept (POC) Management: Work with prospects through evaluation periods to ensure POC success, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Technical Enablement: Ensure a technical win by addressing all prospect technical questions and concerns.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Account Executives (AEs) to align on sales strategies and ensure seamless communication with prospects.
  • Product and Engineering Liaison: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to stay up-to-date on Unacast’s data, systems, and processes. Provide feedback from the field to inform product development.
  • Data Expertise: Understand data pipelines, transfer methods, and be familiar with the challenges associated with large data sets.


    Who We’re Looking For:

    • 3+ years of experience in a solution engineering or similar pre-sales technical role, ideally focused on data analytics products. Experience with location intelligence/geospatial data is a plus.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in data pipelines, data transfer methods, and handling large data sets. Strong understanding of data schemas and workflows. Ability to write moderately complex SQL queries.  Experience with data platforms and analytics tools such as Snowflake, Tableau, etc. is a plus.
    • Presentation & Communication Skills: Excellent customer-facing presentation skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
    • Collaboration: Team-oriented and able to work closely with sales, product, and engineering teams.
    • Adaptability: Comfortable with task switching and managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.
    • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet during technical discussions with prospects.

    This a remote position that may require occasional travel.  Preference for candidates who reside in the following states:   CT, DC, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, MD, MI, NJ, NY, NC, PA, SC, TX, VA, WV


    We offer competitive salaries and benefits and unlimited PTO. The typical base salary range for this role is $90,000 to $110,000.  Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, job level, internal equity and budget. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidates skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
