The Deployment Captain executes transformational, field facing and highly complex initiatives across the enterprise, ensuring each deployment follows USF best practice and, in doing so, drives and tracks projected value for the business. Works alongside a dedicated deployment team, assigned to a given initiative (Descartes Route Planner) and hand in hand with regional and area leadership to engage stakeholders, support resources, and execute training for all impacted associates to insure a successful system deployment.This position is remote/virtual which means the work can be completed from anywhere in the United States except Hawaii or United States Territories. Up to 25% travel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leverages deployment playbook created by the relevant function, in collaboration with VP Enterprise Routing, to become an expert on a given deployment
- Consistently follows best practice deployment design and approach, as described by VP Enterprise Routing and Director of Routing System Deployment
- Builds strong working relationships with area and regional leadership to ensure a collaborative execution of a given initiative
- Engages regularly with center led cross functional resources (e.g., IT, Sale Excellence, Delivery Excellence, Routing) as needed in each deployment.
- Proactively resolves any issues that may arise throughout deployment in each market; escalates to Deployment Director, VP Enterprise Routing as appropriate
- Continually tracks and communicates progress updates and key learnings to ensure Deployment and function leadership are up to date and that best practices are codified
- Maintains flexibility to quickly adapt to multiple market deployments running concurrently.
- As needed, carries out hypercare, second touch efforts and field readiness assessments to ensure the field is well-prepared to initiate or successfully conclude an effort
- Up to 25% travel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training: Bachelors degree in business, sales, or other relevant areas is required.
Related Experience: Seeking 7 years min prior experience in a Sales, Merchandising or Supply Chain role, where candidate gained both functional experience and deep business, problem solving expertise. Food distribution experience preferred. Prior experience within a Merchandising function strongly desired.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must possess outstanding written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively deliver high level presentations. Must demonstrate a keen ability to influence others, at all levels of the organization. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of implementing and problem solving through high impact initiatives across a large organization. Must demonstrate an effective project management skill set. The role requires intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Must possess an intermediate understanding of business and sales acumen and have the ability to apply those successfully on a day to day basis.
Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $95,000 and $155,000.
This role will also eligible for an annual incentive plan bonus.
