A Brief Overview

The US LBM Director of Sourcing will lead the Supply Chain strategy for our retail business, ensuring that we source the best products, materials, and services in alignment with our business goals. This person will collaborate closely with cross functional teams, local leadership, and supplier partners to enable high performance for direct sourcing, fulfillment and local market/business teams. The role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities and deep knowledge of the retail supply chain, vendor management, and sourcing trends. This person is responsible for developing and executing sourcing plans, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality across the Retail footprint for the organization.

What you will do

  • Develop retail strategy aligned with market and regional business models to grow revenue and profitability for targeted customer groups including contractors, trades and consumers.
  • Lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies for key retail categories to include market analysis, key value drivers, supplier selection and productivity roadmaps.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with strategic supplier partners to improve customer experience, grow retail revenue, improve gross margins and optimize working capital.
  • Work closely with market fulfillment teams to understand demand, manage product assortment, and achieve high levels of product availability.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with suppliers, drive data based continuous improvement initiatives and work collaboratively to implement win/win initiatives
  • Identify and implement capabilities required of a best-in-class retail supply chain to include store design, merchandising, market analysis and promotions.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and recommend sourcing strategies that support company differentiation, growth and profitability.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.


Experience Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in retail supply chain management, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of the building material industry or retail distribution to support Supply Chain objectives.


Skills and Abilities

  • Strong experience with supply chain processes, tools, and systems (ERP, SRM, etc.).
  • Proven experience in retail strategic sourcing, merchandising, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Strong understanding of the retail supply chain, product development cycles, and vendor dynamics.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience leveraging analytics tools to drive insights and improve performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Knowledge of supplier management, quality control, and risk management best practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
