Job Description
Seeking an experienced Director to join our growing US Gift, Estate & Trust Tax Practice. In this position you will be responsible for providing a combination of sophisticated tax planning, estate planning, gift tax consulting and tax compliance services, with a focus on Compliance.
Core Responsibilities
Provide high-level fiduciary, personal income, gift and estate tax compliance services, as well as estate planning advisory services
Review fiduciary, estate and gift tax returns
Review estate, trust and fiduciary related accounting documents
Conduct research on Federal and State tax notices and audits on behalf of clients
Research Federal, State and International tax laws, prepare tax memorandums on technical topics, and develop tax savings strategies on behalf of clients
Review and analyze estate planning related legal documents
Participate in business development opportunities, including networking, public speaking and creating educational and current content
Manage other members of the tax team, including review of prepared tax returns, training, and development
Knowledge of cross border estate and gift tax issues a plus
Qualifications/Education
Bachelors degree in Accounting is required
CPA or Enrolled agent designation is required or qualified to obtain designation
MST or LLM in Taxation is Preferred but not required
8-10+ years of relevant tax experience working with trusts, estates and gift tax matters
Mid-size Public accounting firm experience or tax consultant practice experience required
Extensive experience in Tax Advisory and Estate/Trust planning and compliance
Experience with reviewing fiduciary, gift and estate tax returns
Experience with tax research software and memo writing required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications required
Ability to cultivate and maintain key client relationships
Demonstrate polished written and verbal communication
Additional Information:
- Compensation Range: $124,300 - $204,200
- This is a remote role.
