As a Senior Manager you will oversee a team of Health Coach Managers, who are responsible for a large remote team of health coaches that provide direct care for our members. Our Health Coaches at Virta work with members to help reverse metabolic disease by providing high quality remote care through personalized nutrition and lifestyle recommendations. You will motivate and enable our health coaches and managers to achieve exceptional outcomes, ensure delightful member experiences, and enhance employee engagement.
Responsibilities.
Manage the development and performance of a team of Health Coach Managers (~7-10 managers) through guidance, coaching, and consistent feedback, to ensure employee engagement, quality of care delivery, and member outcomes.
Identify and execute on opportunities to improve care delivery and coaching quality as we scale via training, education, technology, etc.
Leverage data and insights to drive decisions related, but not limited to hiring, capacity planning, and performance metrics.
Clearly communicate key updates through various channels and modes of communication, including documents, presentations, and team meetings.
Advocate for and convey the needs and perspective of the coaching team to the wider organization.
Create a collaborative environment of trust, problem solving, and growth amongst the broader coach team.
Scale the coach team through effectively balancing business goals with meeting our growing demand; own hiring decisions and build a strong coach and manager pipeline.
Demonstrate and serve as a champion of the Virta and coach team values.
90 Day Plan
Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:
Master the basics of the Virta Treatment and understand the full member experience.
Become an expert in our coaching methods, internal systems, processes, and technology and provide your expertise in how we define coaching at Virta.
Get to know your fellow teammates, including coaches, coach managers, and cross-functional teammates.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of key performance indicators related to team and company performance and identity trends/patterns to inform decisions.
Assess key inputs influencing individual coach and team performance and identify behaviors and actions that drive positive outcomes.
Review member feedback to identify individual teammate opportunities for improvement as well as implement strategies to enhance member experience.
Execute on an opportunity to improve outcomes and/or efficiency on the team.
Establish your management style with your team, including key rituals and routines like 1:1s, etc.
Who You Are
Experienced in managing managers and operating with unquestionable integrity and authenticity in daily interactions.
Outcomes-driven and passionate about improving metabolic health for our members and ensuring positive member experiences through behavior change, health coaching and innovation in healthcare. You put the member at the center of every decision and rally your team around that.
Systems thinker that can use data to drive decisions in multiple parts of the business.
Comfortable with ambiguity and leading through times of change. You can rally behind the change, while supporting your team through the change to drive alignment.
Clear and transparent in communication with the ability to adapt communication to audience and format.

Must Haves
6+ years people management experience, including at least 2 years of managing managers
Experience in a digital health organization, healthcare organization, or customer service group
Track record of leading teams and holding teams accountable to successfully meet and exceed KPIs while influencing goals of other teams
Demonstrated ability to proactively identify, develop, and drive new strategic initiatives or changes to improve outcomes and efficiency while scaling a team, working with cross-functional partners and/or other organizational leaders
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills with attentiveness to detail

Virta has a location based compensation structure. Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
