Position Summary...

What youll do...

  • Responsible for developing the commercial strategy for global logistics services offered to third-party customers. Leads the implementation of the strategy for a specific service category (for example, Ocean Full Container Freight, Air Freight) to drive customer adoption and business growth.

  • Conducts customer research and uses comprehensive customer feedback mechanisms to continuously identify new business opportunities and create services that generate unique customer value. Uses customer segmentation analysis to create ideal customer profiles for a service category. Demonstrates an understanding of highly complex logistics services available in the market.

  • Leverages international freight forwarding industry domain expertise to identify and prioritize the development of services that best meet customer needs. Develops and manages a short and long range capabilities development roadmap that aligns with enterprise-wide goals and objectives. Defines customer-facing critical success metrics (for example, On-Time Delivery %).

  • Executes metrics gap analysis to identify continuous improvement opportunities and implements systems and process improvements to achieve best-in-class performance. Owns the profit and loss for the assigned global logistics service category (for example, Ocean Full Container Load) and works with stakeholder teams to achieve financial goals, including revenue growth and margin expansion.

  • Builds stakeholder support for the global logistics commercial strategy by leveraging data-driven narratives that are presented in a clear and meaningful way. Owns the development of business requirements for a service category and ensures partner teams accurately scope resource requirements (for example, staffing, systems development, capital) to achieve program and enterprise-wide goals. Creates initiatives and strategies that drive business impacts, including revenue and earnings growth. Works directly with finance stakeholders to quantify the impact of business initiatives (for example, return on investment) for leadership evaluation and enterprise-wide resourcing decisions.

  • Influences the technology roadmap for global logistics services by leveraging a basic understanding of global freight forwarding systems and existing or upcoming technology trends. Evaluates product design using business domain expertise to ensure best-in-class customer experiences. Create customer feedback loops for technical product teams to inform product and customer experience improvements.

  • Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.

  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness.

  • Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy.

  • Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelors degree in business, supply chain, or related area and 6 years’ experience in global freight forwarding, ocean or air freight product management (non-technical), customer solutions management, ocean container trade lane management (vessel or non-vessel operating), or other relevant global logistics area.
4 years supervisory experience.
