Waymos Compute Team is tasked with a critical and exciting mission: We deliver the compute platform responsible for running the fully autonomous vehicles software stack. To achieve our mission, we architect and create high-performance custom silicon; we develop system-level compute architectures that push the boundaries of performance, power, and latency; and we collaborate closely with many other teammates to ensure we design and optimize hardware and software for maximum performance. We are a multidisciplinary team seeking curious and talented teammates to work on one of the worlds highest performance automotive compute platforms.
You will:
- Lead Functional Safety activities, development methodology, and assessments for custom automotive silicon
- Collaborate with the safety team, engineers, and external partner teams to ensure state-of-the-art practices and processes are adopted
- Architect creative solutions
You have:
- MS or higher in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent
- 8 years technical experience in Functional Safety for automotive
- Complete understanding of automotive standards (e.g. ISO26262) and application to silicon product life cycle
- Leadership experience of in-house and partner teams
- Hands-on experience with safety management tools, fault metric analysis, FMEDAs, and implementation of safety mechanisms
We prefer:
- Experience with reliability and quality standards (e.g. AEC-Q100 or IATF 16949)
- Experience with advanced silicon nodes and complex software stacks
- Experience collaborating with vehicle OEMs
- Tool scripting and automation

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
