ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

 

As a member of the Product Marketing team, the Senior Product Marketing Line Manager will be responsible for developing and executing both outbound and inbound product marketing plans to grow Wind River as a global leader in intelligent systems industries. You will focus on translating and articulating the Wind River product features and capabilities into customer value propositions for cloud and edge customers across multiple industries. You will develop unique value propositions and compelling content based on the products’ technical capabilities. You will need to leverage your understanding in domains such as cloud computing, Kubernetes, edge-cloud infrastructure, 5G networking and cloud-native software development to deliver cloud platform marketing content for key Wind River programs. This position requires significant collaboration with other contributors in the marketing, sales, alliances, and product management teams, within Wind River and our parent company – Aptiv. You must be able to influence, motivate and lead key stakeholders and cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced, senior-level, professional with prior experience in cloud computing, and working experience in product marketing or product management, with a passion for communicating solutions to complex customer problems that drive business outcomes.

 

This position will focus on technical product marketing of the Wind River portfolio of open source, cloud and edge environments. It will focus on marketing across core Wind River industries such as aerospace & defense, automotive, telecommunications, manufacturing, and healthcare as well as marketing Wind River cloud products to new enterprise industries, create a marketing engine to raise visibility where we can have differentiated value.

 

ABOUT YOU

 

Key Accountabilities & Expectations

 

  • Research the market opportunity, key players, trends, motivations, needs and challenges across industries in cloud environments.
  • Define, evolve and evangelize the product positioning and messaging for Wind River’s cloud platform and related products
  • Build compelling technical marketing content that translates product features to customer value and helps grow Wind River’s market share in the edge to cloud markets and aligns with Wind River product portfolio and marketing strategies.
  • Be able to define and communicate key software capabilities, benefits, and value to customers across key industries.
  • Create sales enablement and training content for sales teams.
  • Collaborate with other marketing team members on planning and implementing marketing strategies.
  • Develop close alignment with other key stakeholders, particularly with senior product management, marketing, technology office, engineering, and field application engineers.
  • Manage the marketing contributions to the StarlingX open source project and other cloud projects in which Wind River participate.
  • Ensure technical product marketing initiatives and communications are consistent with corporate strategy, including the value proposition of the products and communicating them to internal and external audiences.
  • Measure and report back to senior management on the performance of technical marketing initiatives, including assessment against goals and insights gained.

 

Core Competencies & Demonstrated Success

 

  • 15+ years of experience in product marketing, product management or engineering in the software industry including experience with open source software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or computer science.
  • MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Mastery of the terminology, trends, motivations, and challenges of the cloud computing and edge infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of cloud and enterprise industry ecosystems, standards bodies, and certification requirements.
  • Passion for and expertise with open-source software cloud computing projects such as Kubernetes, OpenStack, KubeVirt, Helm, Ansible, Puppet, OSTree.
  • Understanding of 5G, ORAN, VRAN, and network cloud concepts
  • Strong technical writing skills to aid in building technical content.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to implement and execute on significant and complex projects.
  • Must be able to concisely communicate and write both short and long-form product and solution collateral.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence senior leaders in a highly matrixed organization across engineering, sales, and marketing.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking, including experience working with and leading research.
  • Demonstrated credibility with customers, partners, and cross functional stakeholders with the ability to create formal networks and to represent the Marketing organization.

Compensation                

The annual base salary range for this role’s listed grade level is currently $147,000 to $190,000 plus a bonus for Colorado, New York, and New Jersey residents, and $164,000 to $215,000 plus a bonus for SF Bay Area, Greater Seattle, NYC, and Washington, DC, residents. Salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities of the applicant, and equity with other team members. Employees in this role are also eligible for the following benefits in accordance with the terms of the Companys plans: health, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, flex time off, eligibility to enroll in 401k, and 12 paid holidays.
