The Robotics Automation team is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team. You will analyze, develop, design, and maintain hardware for the organization’s products and systems. As a mechanical engineer you will generate design documentation for release in Zebras PLM system while developing, validating, and testing; hardware designs, standard operating procedures, and user documentation. Responsibilities:
- Makes and implements recommendations to immediate team to enhance performance and improve existing mechanical design
- Makes changes to or upgrades existing mechanical designs. Enhances and improves existing technologies to apply to new solutions.
- Provides recommendations and implements solutions to complex issues. Ensures compliance with quality process and standards.
- Participates and provides some input in project design reviews.
- Using SolidWorks, develop and create documentation for next generation products that align with new corporate marketing direction.
- Runs tests designed by more experienced engineers.
- Reviews test results and perform root cause analyses to identify problems.
- Update, revise, and create standard operating procedures.
- Organize BOM + Drawings within PLM and release changes accordingly.
- Generate and follow through engineering change release from beginning to production release.
- Seeks out new tools to analyze and solve problems.
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- May provide guidance to non-exempt personnel.
- Builds productive working relationships internally and externally.
- Primary intra-organizational with occasional inter-organizational and external customer contacts on routine matters.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Mechanical Engineering experience required
- Experience working in a product release environment
- SolidWorks experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree preferred
- Robotics experience or working in a robotic industry preferred
- Product design experience in industrial equipment or robotic devices
- Experience in Solidworks design and drafting applied to industrial equipment and robotic products
- DFA/DFM experience applied to low quantity prototyping and volume production products.
- Motor, sensor and kinematic assembly design and manufacturing experience is a plus
- Experience working with ODM, JDM is a plus.
- Strong team player and communicator

Salary: USD 86400.00 - USD 129600.00 Yearly
Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
Additionally, all Zebra roles are eligible for cash incentive programs. For example, sales roles have additional opportunity to earn substantial variable compensation tied to quota achievement.
